The Geography of Basketball

In a Basketball lots of thing need to be looked at and  made perfect before a game such as if the buzzer works, the score board, if all the stewards are there, if the teams have made to the venue, if the teams have water, of the balls and the temperature.

In the NBA just like in every other sport there are rivalries which could end up with someone dead. One of the biggest is the Boston Celtics and the Los Angles Lakers. Although on different sides of the country both are the most successful teams in NBA history and with that there is going to be some beef. Both teams have had eras in the 90s and have had amazing players such as Larry Bird, Magic Johnson and Wilt Chamberlain. Cleveland Cavaliers and Boston Celtics also have a rivalry. although new this one has come forward as both teams are contenders for the top spot in the eastern conference with Cleveland getting that top spot most of the time as they do have the better players and coaching staff to do so.

Geography of Basketball

The NBA is the worlds biggest Basketball league and today attracts hundreds of thousands and all started in 1946 when it was founded and the First game took place in Toronto at the Maple leaf Gardens when the Toronto Huskies took on the New York Knickerbockers and anyone of 6 foot 8 got in free. This first game attracted over 7000 people and the games did not disappoint as New York won 68-66. 

Now you cant have a Basketball game without a Stadium and a court and over the year as basketball as grown ever so popular the stadiums they have played in have become bigger and better. The stadium where the first game was played has a capacity of 15 thousand and now the average stadium holds about 18 thousand. But what I find cool is that the biggest stadium in the world hold 55 thousand and although most basketball stadiums are in America this one is in the Philippines and they have the third biggest with the Araneta coliseum and with a Stadium come a court and there are three different types of court there is the NBA court, a College court and a School court. the difference between the courts are how far the three point line is away from the net.

Basketball is a sport that started when a PE teacher wanted his student to play a sport where they is limited contact but more on shooting and running and after some time the made up game was told around the country and became a real sport.

In these posts I just wanted to talk about the geography of basketball and in this one I will be talking about how a basketball is made and what goes into making it as well as stadiums and what it takes to make one. The outer layer of the basketball is made from leather, synthetic rubber. So on the inside of the ball there is another ball that acts like a bladder and hold the air without letting the air get out anywhere. The bladder is made from rubber, and the carcass is made from treads of nylon or polyester. 
when making a basketball court there are certain factors that you need when designing one as if the type of wood is strong enough for 10 players and 3 referees to stand on as well as if the the ground is flat when laying the concrete and you also need engineers to make the area that goes around it.
